Erik Hunt currently serves as an International Trade Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce Indianapolis office. Mr. Hunt previously served as the Consul for Commercial Affairs in Munich, Germany. He is a former commissioned member of the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service.
Mr. Hunt previously served as the Deputy Counselor for Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 2012-2017. He served as the Counselor for Commercial Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, Korea from 2007-2012. Additional postings were held in Kuwait from 2005-2007, Ankara, Turkey from 2001-2005, and Bonn-Berlin, Germany from 1997-2000. Throughout his 36 year career, Mr. Hunt served as the Commerce Department country team lead on all matters pertaining to commercial military sales, defense advocacy, defense industry market analysis, and planning for Mission participation at major international defense exhibitions and bilateral defense-industry dialogues that included air shows in Berlin, Ankara/Istanbul, Seoul, Dubai, Riyadh, and the Munich Security Conference. Mr. Hunt is a member of the U.S. Department of Commerce aerospace and defense team supporting promotional efforts focused on Army, Navy, Marine, and Coast Guard forces.
Mr. Hunt received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the California Polytechnic State University in 1988. He is married to Beatrice nee Burger, an intercultural consultant and trainer.
